Scholarship Programmes for Students in Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein is a small principality in the centre of Europe, situated between Austria and Switzerland. Liechtenstein comprises of public as well as private higher education institutions. Scholarships are limited in Liechtenstein. The University of Liechtenstein offers some scholarships to students who wish to study at the university.
The Institute of Architecture and Planning awards many API Scholarships to pupils who wish to study in the Master of Science in Architecture (MSc) programme at the university. The API scholarship is awarded to the applicants who demonstrate academic excellence and need financial support, irrespective of their nationality or background. The API scholarships are given by the Stiftung fur Produkteinnovation API which supports the research and development of projects related to sustainable construction and energy efficiency.
Benefits: Scholarship covers tuition fee and living expenses in Liechtenstein.
Applying procedure: Applicants must fill out an API application form besides the Master programme application form. Submit the form along with 2 references- one from the applicant’s current professor, and another from the most recent employer, showing their support for the applicant.

Erasmus Mundus External Windows Programme
The University of Liechtenstein takes part in the Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window in 2 university association to encourage collaboration with third countries in research, studying and teaching. The European Commission supports the individual mobility of pupils, scientists and academic staff within the consortia.
Level of study: The scholarships are offered for undergraduate-bachelor, master, doctoral and post-doctoral levels.
Scholarship duration: 6 to 34 months (Exchange of academic staff is for 1 month)
Benefits: Scholarship covers monthly allowance, one air ticket (round trip), and insurance cover. The monthly grants amount to:
- Undergraduate (Bachelor) for 5 months €1000
- Graduate (Master) for 5, 10 or 22 months €1000
- Doctorate for 6, 22 or 34 months €1500
- Post-doctorate for 6 months €1800
- Academic staff for 1 month €2500
